About 2 months ago, we got a brilliant idea to drop a TV off of Will Roegge’s second story balcony onto the ground below. The idea was created when his TV (which also happens to weigh as much as a baby elephant) broke after years of use. We thought the best way to end it’s life would be to drop it straight onto the ground from the highest point we had access to….and to film it. After some thought we realized the potential of the TV actually breaking the concrete driveway, which wouldn’t have sat well with a few people. So we held off on the idea.
Fast forward to this past weekend, and the idea of using a car as a “buffer” was brought into play. Will’s roommate had a Toyota Camry that had recently ended it’s own life and would barely drive. She (Aya, the roommate) decided she thought it would be awesome if we dropped the TV on her car instead…and so we did it. With Will and myself on the ground filming, and Will’s other roommate Peter Tarach up on the balcony handling the destruction along with the help of their downstairs neighbors, this is what we got.
